(More customer reviews)First I am sure the other reviewer had a bad toaster. The one I got works fine. A slight press of the lever starts the toaster. The toast level control works fine as well. What I really like about this toaster is its ability to easily handle bagels with its extra wide slots. Most of the outside of the unit remains cool while toasting. It has a smooth finish and cleans easily with the wipe of a sponge. The bottom has a door that opens to remove accumulated crumbs. Finally, the price is a steal.

Global 3-Inch Serrated Tomato Knife Review

(More customer reviews)I am a big fan of Global knives. They are wonderfully balanced, expertly sharp, and heaven to hold. This knife is no exception. I have quite a collection, myself. However, to call this knife a "Tomato Knife," at only 3inches long, is nuts in my book; that is, of course, unless you're talking about cherry tomatoes! The knife does glide through the skin effortlessly, as another has said, and the meat of the tomato is certainly not a challenge for the knife, either. But it's so short that the knife can get hung-up down in the tomato when you're trying to cut through. I wondered about this, but I purchased it anyway. It's great on avacados: if you use it to cut them in half the long way, and then use the back of the knife to cross-cut the insides of the halves, then turn the halves inside out, and scrape out the little squares of the avacado meat. But if you really want a great serrated knife that's long enough to cut through tomatoes with ease and room to spare, get the Global 6-inch Serrated Utility Knife. It's a must have, anyway.

Unfortunately that means that they have a tight seal when you put the lid on. I can clip this lid to the pot and then put the lid back on. Viola, now the lid stays slightly open while I cook things without the worry of the contents bubbling up and spilling out! Works great!

They're not the best looking cups in the cupboard, but they are by far the most utilized. The fact that they don't sweat is the biggest bonus. I never fret not having a coaster around with these cups. They don't last forever, as they can begin to leak after a few years--not outside the cup but within the double layer. I think Tervis pretty much has the market cornered for these cups, and for good reason. They may be a bit pricey, but they really do last a long time.

Global Hollow Ground 7-Inch Vegetable Knife Review

(More customer reviews)My new favorite knife manufacturer! I bought the Global 7" vegetable knife after using the smaller 5 1/2" vegetable knife for six or eight months. The balance and dimpled grip works well for me. The shape of the blade is somewhat similar to a Chinese Chef knife and I find both of the Global Vegetable Knives to be great all purpose knives. Caution, these knives are so sharp that I have to use care not to choke up on the handle and accidently nick my index finger on the heel of the blade. Just a reminder to practice good knife skills and not be careless with these fine blades. They are clean and practical with their beautiful one piece stainless design and it is fun to see them in the hands of celebrity chefs on the Food Network from time to time. Although Global is in the upper half of the cuttlery price range, I think that they are a good value. We live in our kitchen and love expanding our culinary expertise so it is a pleasure to have quality tools.

I figured that even though the pan is nonstick, I'd still have difficulty getting the cake out of it. Not a problem! I *did* spray the pan with oil and then flour it, just to be safe, and golly, the gorgeous marble cake I made (from Sax's "Classic Home Desserts," another fave) practically flew out of the pan! The shape really stood out after I dusted the cake with powdered sugar. So, home bakers, fear not--this cool-looking pan works!

(More customer reviews)This a good product. It is simple to use and easy to setup. The product makes excellent soup and the recipes are good. I haven't tried independent recipes but I would expect them to be as good as the ones provided.
The only problem that I have seen with the unit is that the lid has to be exact even though it will go on various ways. It has to be align correctly with few guidelines. This is a minor problem however. Something to be looked at in future generations.
I look forward to using this easy appliance in cooking. I would recomnend it to all who like soup made easy.

However, the set of four knives that I received consisted of two knives with dark wood handles and two knives with much lighter-colored wood handles. They don't match! This may well be a problem only with the one set I received, I don't know. But it would probably upset most buyers.
