I was getting tired of buying and throwing away pans because their non stick surface was in my dinner. This set has a heavy bottom that cooks food faster than the regular pans. These pans are non stick on the outside also and are very easy to clean. I would have paid much more for this quality but these were quite reasonable to me. The red dot in the middle is a nice added touch to a very good set of pans. The lids fit perfectly and have the little breather hole. I think they are a nice looking set also.

(More customer reviews)When I use this, I am doing some serious frying. This allows me to move and turn food without splashing a lot of oil. Removing cooked food from oil is also easy because the large holes drain grease well. This is best used with at least a 10" skillet. Otherwise you won't have enough room to work.
It's a nice and heavy tool and fits well in my hand. As with all All Clad stainless, it's beautiful and cleans up easily -- handwash or throw it in the diswasher.

(More customer reviews)I bought the pan because I was in the market for a griddle type pan, and I was really interested in the new oval shapes in cookware. I enjoy Rachael Ray's show and follow quite a few of her recipes, and that orange trim really caught my eye, so I bought it.
Other than the fact that I wish the handle were on the shorter end rather than centered at the widest point, (because maneuvering can be tricky unless you have a huge rangetop), I'm pleased with the way it cooks. I'm lucky enough with a large enough kitchen that I can leave it out, because it's rather eye-catching, (I bought the saute' pan too, with the lid) and I find myself using it more and more often. It's great for searing. I made wonderful porkchops last night. I recommend it if you don't want to spend a fortune, but still want those nice grill marks in a pan.

(More customer reviews)I inherited the Magnalite collection from my mother and grandmother, and after 50+ years of hard use, really hard use, I only recently managed to warp the bottom of the skillet on my new Viking (flamethrower) gas stove when I set the heat too high. But I'm still using the skillet! This super heavy duty set cooks the most evenly and cleans up the easiest of any cookware out there. I despise non-stick interiors, and these gratefully have none, and with use are seasoned so well they never stick. I will cheerfully buy new sets for my grandkids and hopefully they will still be using theirs in 50+ years as well. Rice is perfect, browing meats & rue gravy is easy, roasts and soups cook evenly without scortching, and cleanup is fast & easy with a little steel wool. The 11 inch skillet size is perfect for fried chicken and browning meats of all types. Best cookware ever made, at a real bargain of a price!!

Stansport Non Stick Steel Two Person Cookware Set, Black Granite Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this set to use for lightweight car camping trips, but it is not too heavy for backpacking.
The set is steel, and heats more evenly than aluminum sets I've used in the past. I cooked a test pot of rice over a one burner stove and experienced no sticking, burning or dry spots. The folding handles are riveted to the pots and pan rather than being welded. The handles are loose, and under some circumstances could fold back against the cookware while cooking, leading to melting of the plastic covering, but they do lock together which should prevent that.
The plastic cups that come with the set feel somewhat cheap (alright, really cheap) but include measurement markings and withstand boiling water quite well.
Because of the finish and the non-stick coating, I would not recommend this set for use over a campfire.
All in all, I'm pleased with the performance of the set, and at the price, would say it's a good value.

DeLonghi Oil-Filled Radiator with Programmable Timer, TRV0715T Review

(More customer reviews)Lovely design. Great heat! Easy to move from place to place. The "new" smell disappears quickly in a few hours via following the directions. (I also used a tiny bit of lavender oil on the top fins - during those hours - to mask the initial unpleasant smell. And I placed it near a window that was ajar.) We haven't used the programming so I can't comment on that (see below for update!). (There was one similar model that lacked the programming feature, but it was not sold by Amazon and required a substantial shipping fee. My advice: Always check the origin and any shipping cost! When given a choice, I prefer Amazon. Second choice is to go through Amazon, if it's not something Amazon carries.)
Back to the heater:
This heats quickly. And it's cute! Easy to store, as this model is particularly slim. I strongly recommend reading the directions so you avoid overtaxing your electric outlets or circuits. Beyond that, this thing will be your "friend" on cold mornings - as it heats up so quickly. It's like a little fireplace - except it's safe.
My vote of confidence in the heater and in Amazon service (it arrived 2 days after shipping!) is so strong we are ordering a second one. This will enable us to keep the house temperature lower and just warm the rooms we're actually occupying at any one time.
My initial order included another DiLonghi heater (HHP1500, Mica Panel Radiator), which is very attractive - looks almost like a small TV - except with wire mesh instead of a screen. The oil-filled radiator keeps its heat longer and puts out more heat. But the Mica Panel radiator is preferable if space is limited and you're looking for something to keep your feet warm while reading or watching TV; it puts out consistent, gentle heat - mostly from the front, a bit from the top - whereas the oil-filled radiator puts out a lot of heat - from the top. (Also, the mica panel one is so light, you can easily carry it from one room to another.) We're happy with both, but the oil-filled radiator is the one we decided to duplicate as, for us, it's more versatile, and can really "add" heat where you need it - thus allowing us to have the thermostat lower. (Both heaters do not use blowers, which, if you have allergies, is a big plus! That's another reason to supplement forced air central heating with these space heaters.)
We chose a slim model. So I expect the larger, heavier models would be great heat "work horses" if you're looking for something with an even greater heat output.
Update (10/12/09):
Programming function of this heater:
By accident I have now learned about the programming. It's an ingenious design, in my view. It's not via a computer, but there's dial where you set the current time (be sure to move that dial only clockwise!) and then there is a circle of tiny little red levers (like tiny hairs, except they move). And these little levers are really on/off controls. If the lever is moved to the center of the circle, then it's "on" - so if you don't need to "program" it, you simply move all the little levers toward the center and you have nice little circle of red. However, for any spans of time where you want the heater to turn itself off, you move the lever to the outer part of the circle.
Does your heater APPEAR to be "broken" because it won't turn on? Check that little red circle of levers.... in case for some reason they've been moved and the unit has turned itself off. You can easily put them back the way you want them.
Again, it's a brilliant little programming design! Very easy to understand. And it really is not subject to the kind of problems of things that you program digitally. As I said above, it's like a circle of "on/off" switches that you can control individually.
We're glad we've got the second one on the way!

I had almost the same model that only lasted 3 years though, the teflon strip covering the metal heat bar wore out and could not be replaced or repaired by the company so I had to buy a new food saver. I am still very upset at the company for this flaw.....the old appliance was perfect in every other way.....what a waste. Anyway I love the sealer and could not do without one. I seal all of my packages of cereal, bread, chips, brown sugar etc. I vacuum seal and freeze almost all of my left overs, buy in bulk and vacuum and freeze, use the lid sealer for my mason jars, it is one of my favorite appliances in the kitchen that I could not do without. I am hoping the new model has a better heating unit in it that will not break any time soon.A.S.

WearEver Admiration 12 pc Cook Set - Gray Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a set of Wearever Hard Anodized cookwear about 10 years ago. At the time, I paid approx. $175 for the set. We have been fanatical about never using sharp objects with the teflon coating. As a result, the interior of the pans are in very good shape. My problem is with the anodized finish and handles which have not held up at all. While out shopping for new cookwear, I came across the new Wearever sets. Prominently displayed on their packaging is printed "Guaranteed Forever." I went home and decided to call their customer service to see if my cookwear could be replaced under warranty. What happened from there was an excercise in poor customer service.
The representaive on the phone proceeded to tell me all the things that would not be covered by their warranty, before I could even explain what the issue was with my pans. Suffice it to say the exclusions were so numerous and burdensome that I was given the impression that it would be a waste of time to even bother sending this cookware in because they would be looking for a reason to deny sending you a replacement.
For example, he told me that they would not honor the warranty if the cookwear had been improperly washed or got too hot. Hmmmmm, I thought. What good is cookwear if you don't heat food in it and wash it afterwards. He explained that it couldn't be washed in the dishwasher. Fair enough, I thought. We always wash it by hand because of the space they take up, however, I cannot say that a babysitter, housekeeper, mother in law etc.. has not run them through the dishwaser. If that will void the warranty, perhaps they should stamp "NOT DISHWASHER SAFE" on the bottom of these things. They could also print that on the outside of the carton that they sell them in.
I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor, and pretty much got the same story and attitude. If you send your cookwear in, we will take 4-6 weeks to make a determination on whether or not we will replace it. We reserve the right to replace it with something else (because we don't make your style anymore). The long and short of it is: If you decide to buy Wearever cookware, don't expect to ever have anything replaced under the warranty. If you are brave enough to send your cookware to them for replacement, plan on eating out at a resturant for a month and a half. These folks are apparently experts at dissuading consumers from exercising their rights under their warranty. Fool me once, shame on you... I will avoid cookware made by Wearever, Mirro, T-Fal, and their other brands.

No matter what I cook in it, using moderate amounts of oil, the food sticks and clean up is impossible. I have other stainless steel pans which work beautifully - conduct heat well, food doesn't stick and clean up is a breeze, (no they're not All-Clad and I didn't pay a fortune). Although I've had T-Fal products which are quite good - this is definitely not one of them. Do not buy this pot!
