(More customer reviews)This iron is just not working out for me. I iron several of my sons white shirts for work and I am so tired of washing them only to stain them during ironing. I do not use starch, so not sure what the black gunky stuff is that stays on the iron, but it does come off onto your clothes. Now in the market for a better iron. I would say if you have not bought this one yet, move on and find another brand. Gave it 2 stars because it does heat up and the cord is long enough. That's about all I can say for it.

(More customer reviews)Very nice iron - especially for the price I paid on Amazon.com. Has a removable water tank which makes it easier to fill without making a mess. Nice, very polished stainless steel soleplate which glides easily over clothes. Has an anti-calcium system to prevent buildup caused by hard water which can block the steam system. Another nice feature is the power cord retractor - which works very well.

Steam out wrinkles quickly and easily with this 1200-watt iron. The unit's stainless-steel curved nonstick soleplate provides smooth, gentle gliding, and its temperature ranges from 176 to 392 degrees F to accommodate a variety of different fabrics. Turn the temperature dial to choose from five fabric settings; a handy reference chart for fabrics and temperatures comes printed on the iron's base. I also have hard water and have to clean them regularly and they have held up with no problems. I like the auto-off feature for safety reasons; they heat up quickly when turned back on. I have referred many of my students to amazon to buy them because they love them, too!
